Morning Dew

This painted daisy, planted late in the year, stands at the front side of my vetabale garden covered in morning dew. It has grown to be a five foot bush with many buds. The buds pictured here are at the top of the plant and are likely to be the first to bloom. I am sure to have shots of them later. At first glance this shot almost appears to be of fruit and with the dew drops covering them, they look good enough to take a bite out of.

Bay Hill

On this shot I tried my best to chose the right time to capture this sun flower in the right light and shadow situation. I still can't deside how well I did. I alowed myself only one crack at it to put my knowledge and senses to the test. There are some harsher shadows than I expected but they have been softened some by waiting as long as I could before losing the true blue color of the sky. If you like you can drop me an email and let me know what you think. There was no avoiding the telephone line. I was able to manage to avoid the several lower wires by the upward angle of the shot. I'm quite sure that if needed that short peice of wire could be removed in editing. I chose to leave it alone for the time being.

Warmth and Beauty

I tried to capture this unique little guy in as bright of light as possible without losing the detail of the lagest pedals which are sharply focused. As you can see, the birds have not yet turned their interest on the smaller sunflower. While I was taking this shot there were birds feasting on the larger ones overhead and for this reason it is very rare to find larger, more mature sunflowers still intact to photograph especialy in the drying stage. Even before they are mature the birds tend to land on many of them to get into position to raid another that is ready. This leaves the pedals and leaves torn. It is a little frustrating from the photography (of sunflower) point of view but not from the photography (of birds) point of view. After all the birds and squirrles are the reason I plant them.

Summer On The Bay

I have many many fishing memories from this particular spot. Not everyday does it look like this but it is always beautiful. You learn more of the world if you look at it like you would through a camera lens.

Though The Reeds

It won't be long now before the colors leaves will change and fall providing for those great silhouette shots with sunset as a backdrop behing the bare trees. Though everyday is beautiful I'm sure glad I took some pictures of this one.
